The seige of Jerusalem

The siege of Jerusalem was a drawn out fight for control the city itself. In 66 A.D. Jerusalem declared independence from the Roman empire. Rome retaliated by sending three legions commanded the future emperor Titus and his future emperor son. The battle started in March and ended almost 6 months later in September. Jerusalem is a city built on multiple mountains and with many walls. Titus had to breach three different walls to get into the core of the city and the peculiar thing about this conflict was the many breaks between the fighting. The thought of the city falling silent after days of battle cries and yelling is what interests me here. To walk among the wounded soldiers confident in their faith, hopeful of the future, worried about the Romans as their ready themselves building more siege equipment to bring down the remaining walls, resting in the shade, but I would know the truth about their upcoming damnation. To see the soldiers desperate to protect the temple, yet so hopeless in the face of the Roman military machine.
